The six top bathroom trends for 2022-2023, as seen at Salone del Mobile, Milan
It had been a long wait, but in June, Detremmerie finally made the journey back to the Milan Furniture Fair ‘Salone del Mobile’ in Milan. Salone del Mobile is the foremost trade fair for interior and exterior design in the world, and takes place every year in Milan. We left with masses of inspiration, and simply couldn’t let the latest trends pass us by. We’ll give you a quick overview of our discoveries in this blog post!

#1 Round it up!
Organic, rounded shapes are top of the list for 2022 and 2023, giving a sense of homeliness and blending effortlessly into just about any space. We’ve already paid heed to this new trend in our Round and Private collections.
#2 Mañana-mentality
With interior designers’ attention focused firmly on the sea, it was easy to forget that we were in the heart of the bustling urban metropolis of Milan. Influences came from locations including the south of France and Morocco. We have already added that southern feel to our collection with the introduction of terracotta to our concrete range. Much like in the fashion world, green accents are also permeating the world of interior design this year.
#3 Timeless wood
Wood has always been ‘in’ when it comes to bathrooms, thanks to that instantaneous sense of warmth that it brings. But, used correctly, this timeless material can also give you a trendy, modern look. We attach the wooden battens to the front in vertical orientation for a surprising relief.
#4 Chic marble
With marble in your bathroom, you really can’t go wrong – something we’ve already looked at in this detailed blog post, dedicated entirely to this unique natural material.
#5 All black everything
Although black accents are far from being a new trend, we have no reason to think that they’re going to disappear any time soon. Integrate black into your fittings, handles, mirror edges or into the frames holding your bathroom cabinets.
#6 Catchy fittings
We know from experience how important it is for bathroom fittings like taps to grab the attention. Manufacturers know this too, and are eagerly adding flashy colours to their collections. Just take a look at the daring designs from Gessi in this reel. If you want to match your taps to your base unit, you should take a look at the striking RAL colours in our Private and Deluxe collections. Release that creative spirit!
