Spotted at Ceraie Bologna: 6 trend ideas for your dream bathroom
At the end of September, Detremmerie visited Cersaie, the international bathroom exhibition in Bologna. More than 600 exhibitors were there presenting their latest bathroom design, accessories and ceramic tile collections. We came home full of inspiration, having noted six trends to keep an eye on! Which would work well in your ideal bathroom?

#1 Marble but make it subtle
Marble is the material of the moment to give your bathroom a characterful look. Tiles, wash basins and countertops in marble or ceramic marble introduce a little bit of elegance and, thanks to the durability of the material, they really will last and last. We previously shared some ideas to inspire you to use marble in your bathroom in this blog.
#2 Wooden slats
Slatted wooden furniture is dominating the interior world right now. And that goes for bathroom decoration too! The warmth of wood and the unique structure of vertical slats really bring cabinets and wash basins to life. #3 Smart sliding drawers
Since a bathroom needs first and foremost to be functional, the drawer inside a drawer trend (did someone mention inception?) is still going strong. And we're fans of smart storage solutions too! A small, hidden drawer not only looks more aesthetically pleasing but is also a great way to keep small care and cleaning products organised.
#4 Festival of colour
Minimalism is out, character and fun are in. This means that sober furniture is making room for more colourful pieces, with terracotta, green and blue taking centre stage. A sage green concrete bath or a wash basin in a warm tone? Go for it!
#5 Innovative mirror shapes
Round, round baby is no longer the order of the day when it comes to your choice of mirror. It turns out there’s another side to mirrors, many sides in fact. Six, eight and ten-sided bathroom mirrors, as well as semi-circular mirrors right down to the countertop were everywhere you looked in Bologna. Would you dare to try something new?
#6 Ecological glass
We’ve had the material in our range for some time now and Cersaie confirmed the trend: glass is in. A glass wash basin or bath is sustainable and creates a real eye-catcher in your bathroom.
