Solid surface - what’s in a name?
In top solid, only the top layer is made from a derivative of bauxite, while our solid surface washstands, countertop basins and baths are made entirely of this durable material. These products aren't called solid for nothing. The material is poured evenly, so it’s non-porous and offers a stylish matt look.
Durable and easy to maintain
Solid surface is best known in the market under the brand name Corian, the material famous for being easy to maintain. And there are other ways in which solid surface stands out too:
- it’s very strong and fire-resistant
- it’s dirt-repellent and antibacterial
- the solid surface allows for a custom design
- the transition from washstand to basin is seamless
- It’s repairable: any scratches can be removed using a piece of fine sandpaper!
What you do need to ensure with washstands in solid surface is a sturdy base. For large surface areas you will need one support console per 60 cm, to prevent the washstand from sagging.
